Bowies and Big Stuff

Stacked Randy
Inspired by work I did restoring classic Randall knives for a collector friend of mine, though not modeled after any particular knife, it is my own take on some of those ideas. The long slender 10.5 inch blade with a 9.25 inch convex cutting edge is forged from W2 tool steel and has a clay hamon line and unsharpened false edge on the spine. A stout quarter inch thick at the spine, it makes for a formidable tool that is surprisingly well balanced and agile. The soldered nickle silver guard and pommel sandwich a stacked leather handle that feels solid and secure in hand and counterweights the big blade. A diamond pommel nut adds another serious option to the butt of this beast. This tribute to the fighting knives of the past is ready to go with a custom leather sheath featuring a frog on the retention strap to stay silent when it counts.
