Hand forged from stainless AEB-L steel, this blade will require less maintenance than a high carbon blade, while taking a great edge and retaining good toughness. The blade is forged thin for excellent slicing, with a flat grind and convex edge. The handle is local Iowan curly maple. The collar is crafted from spacers of stabilized cherry burl from the makers back yard in Des Moines and five thousand year old local bog oak from the Nodaway river valley in Adams county, Iowa. The guard and pin are durable nickle silver. Light, handy and beautiful.
