This well balanced knife is forged from an old file, leaving all the gnarly surface marks intact on the six inch blade. The handle is made from the bark of Himalyan ram’s horn, for a sure grip and natural beauty. Stainless steel birdseye bolts anchor the slabs. White fiber liners set off the filework on the tang. Years ago, files were prized as material for blades since it was known that quality steel was needed for a file and it could be easily identified. While modern files are often made of cheap steel the has been case hardened, old files make excellent blades with a high surface hardness and flexible core, due to their shallow hardening. A beautiful and functional knife.
