Bog Oak Sous Chef
Bog Oak Sous Chef
A thin stainless steel santoku style blade, crafted from AEB-L stainless steel at RC62 combines a modern steel with an ancient wood handle. The handle is made from local Iowan Bog Oak, from underneath the Nodaway river valley in Adams County, Iowa. This naturally jet black wood has been unearthed from a quarry and salvaged to provide some of the most exotic wood Iowa has to offer. The guard is durable micarta, made from compressed layers of canvas and impervious to oils, acids and moisture.
This is a light and agile slicer that can handle any everyday kitchen task from chopping to boning. The ancient oak on the handle is sure to make your mind wander to another time.
